Since its inception in 2013, Bengaluru FC has stood as a symbol of ambition, professionalism, and sporting excellence in Indian football. Based out of the vibrant city of Bengaluru, the club has transformed the footballing landscape of the country, becoming a benchmark for success both on and off the field. From winning the I-League in its debut season to clinching the Indian Super League title and consistently performing on the continental stage in the AFC Cup, Bengaluru FC has carved a name for itself as a powerhouse in South Asian football.
What truly sets Bengaluru FC apart is not just its silverware, but its relentless focus on structure, discipline, and long-term vision. With a management team rooted in professionalism and a footballing philosophy built on tactical intelligence, high work ethic, and player development, the club has consistently attracted top talent from India and abroad. The passionate West Block Blues, Bengaluru FC’s iconic supporters group, has added to the club’s identity—creating an electrifying matchday atmosphere and helping build one of the strongest football cultures in the country.
Beyond trophies and matchday glory, Bengaluru FC believes in a deeper purpose: to create a lasting legacy for Indian football. Recognizing that the foundation of any great footballing nation lies in its youth, the club has invested heavily in grassroots initiatives, talent identification, and youth development. This commitment gave rise to the club’s official grassroots and academy arm—BFC Soccer Schools—a structured pathway designed to nurture young players, instill professional values, and provide a clear route from playgrounds to professional football.
As one of the most forward-thinking clubs in Asia, Bengaluru FC continues to push boundaries, not only in performance and player development, but also in community building, fan engagement, and social impact. Through its integrated approach, the club aspires to inspire millions of young Indians to dream bigger, train harder, and embrace the beautiful game with passion and purpose.
Bengaluru FC, often referred to as BFC, was founded in 2013 with the vision of bringing professional football to the forefront in Bengaluru and to set new standards in Indian football. The club was established by the JSW Group, a leading conglomerate in India. The aim was not only to form a competitive football team but also to foster a footballing culture in the city of Bengaluru, the state of Karnataka and beyond.
Under the stewardship of the club’s first Head Coach, Ashley Westwood, Bengaluru FC made an immediate impact on Indian football. The team’s home ground, the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, quickly became a Fortress, with passionate fans filling the stands and creating an electrifying atmosphere. The club won its inaugural title in its debut season, with the 2013-14 I- League.
Bengaluru FC’s debut season in the I-League was nothing short of remarkable. In the 2013-14 season, the club defied expectations by clinching the I-League title in its very first attempt. This historic achievement was a testament to the club’s well-structured management, strategic planning, and the hard work of both players and coaching staff. The club would then go on to win the Federation Cup (2015), I-League (2015-16) and the Federation Cup once again, in 2017, before moving to the Indian Super League in 2017-18.
The success in the first season set the tone for the future. Bengaluru FC’s commitment to excellence on and off the field quickly established the club as a powerhouse in Indian football. The club’s emphasis on professionalism, youth development, and community engagement has continued to influence the sporting landscape in India. From its inception, Bengaluru FC has been dedicated to not only winning trophies but also to developing the sport at the grassroots level. The club’s youth academy has been pivotal in nurturing young talent, ensuring a steady pipeline of skilled players who could potentially represent India on the international stage.
Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru FC’s Home Stadium also known as “The Fortress,” is more than just a venue for us. It is the beating heart of the club’s soul. The Blues, who moved there from the Bangalore Football Stadium at the end of their inaugural campaign, have now played 10 seasons at the arena.
This 26,000-seater arena, located at the heart of the city, has witnessed countless moments of passion, victory, losses and camaraderie over the past decade. Every cheer that echoes through its stands, every roar of victory, and every nook and corner of the stadium is a testament to the unbreakable bond between us and our fans.
The Fortress isn’t just a stadium; it’s a sacred ground where the spirit of football thrives, where the hopes of a city come alive, and where every match is a chapter in the story of the Blues
